Range

S. Africa;
Two populations;
Botswana, Zimbabwe e. to s. Malawi, and s. to Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Mozambique to s. South Africa. Has bred in Zambia and possibly breeds regularly in Namibia.
Disperses in the non-breeding season n. to nc. Angola, se. Zaire and w. to coastal Namibia.
