Range

Tropical South America mostly e. of the Andes;
(1) N. and e. Colombia, locally in Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, Brazil (Bahia (Chapada Diamantina)), Ecuador and Peru. W. of the Andes from sw. Ecuador from Guayas and nw. Peru in Tumbes.
(2) Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay to c. Argentina s. to Mendoza, La Pampa and Buenos Aires.
Winters n. to Panama and n. South America.
