Range
Circumpolar; Is. off se. Australia, New Zealand and the Tasman Sea; Sw. Indian Ocean; S. Atlantic Ocean;
Three main breeding populations;
Sw. Pacific Ocean is. off New Zealand (is. off s. South Island and possibly on is. and cliffs in Fiordland), Snares Is.(?), Chatham (surrounding islets and stacks), Auckland, Antipodes (all is.), Bounty(?), Campbell and Macquarie Is. Sw. Indian Ocean at Kerguelen, Marion, Crozet (East, Ile de la Possession, Ile aux Cochons) and Prince Edward I(?) Is. S. Atlantic at South Georgia, Gough, Falklands (is. off East and West Falkland) and possibly the is. of Cape Horn (Diego Ramirez).
Disperses to se. Australia (e. South Australia off Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Is., Victoria (Portland), New South Wales), s. Tasmania into the Tasman Sea to New Zealand (North and South Islands), s. Chile (Tierra del Fuego, Diego Ramirez, Drake Passage) and s. Argentina (Patagonia).
