Pakistan, India and Bangladesh;
Small isolated population in ne. Pakistan (Margalla Hills). Foothills of the Himalayas from w. Himachal Pradesh (Dharmsala, Kangra) e. to Sikkim, ne. India (Assam and Manipur) and Bangladesh s. to w. and c. India in Gujarat, ex. n. Karnataka, e. Maharashtra and c. Bihar).
Winters s. in s. India to Sri Lanka.
