Nw. and Amazonian South America and e. Brazil;
Three populations;
(1) Small isolated population in ec. Colombia (Nechi region of Antioquia).
(2) Se. Colombia to e. Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana, n. Amazonian Brazil n. of the Amazon from Amazonas e. to Rio Jari, e. Ecuador and n. Peru.
(3) E. Peru (s. of Rio Maranon) and n. Bolivia e. to w. Brazil (Rio Madeira).
(4) Ne. Brazil s. of the Amazon from Rio Solimoes, Rio Purus and Rio Tapajos e. to e. Para.
(5) Se. Brazil (e. Bahia (Chapada Diamantina, Lencois, Palmeiras, and Bonito)).
