Range
S. Central America and nw. South America. Amazonian South America;
Two main populations with a third very small population;
Caribbean slope of Costa Rica and Panama and along the Pacific slope from the Canal Zone e. to w., c. and se. Colombia w. of the Andes to nw. Ecuador. E. of the Andes in e. Peru, n. Bolivia, se. Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, Guiana and n. Amazonian Brazil. An isolated and very small population in the headwaters of the Orinoco.
