Range

C. and e. Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea;
Nests on is. off se. France, Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, Italy, e. Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and is. in the Adriatic Sea off Yugoslavia and Albania and Aegean Sea off Greece e. to Turkey, Crete, Lebanon, Israel and into the Sea of Marmara and w. Black Sea off Bulgaria.
Disperses throughout the Mediterranean Sea to the coasts of Turkey and Lebanon into the Black Sea and w. to Gibraltar.
