Range

Circumpolar; Southern Ocean, s. Atlantic Ocean, s. Indian Ocean and s. Pacific Ocean;
South Georgia, Prince Edward, Marion, Heard, Crozet (East Is.), Kerguelen and Macquarie Is. and s. Chile (Diego Ramirez and Cape Horn Is.).
Disperse from the pack ice of Antarctica n. to about 40°S off the coast of Chile (n. to Valparaiso, 33°S), in the Humboldt Current off the coast of Peru in the winter to 20°S, Argentina, South Africa (Cape of Good Hope), s. Australia (s. Western Australia, Victoria (Portland) and s. New South Wales), s. Tasmania, the Tasman Sea and New Zealand (North Island off Auckland West, Taranaki, Wellington West).
