Range

C. e. Pacific Ocean;
Galapagos Is. (Santa Cruz, James, San Salvador, San Cristobal, Floreana, and Isabela).
Disperses to the coasts of Central and South America n. to Clipperton Is. off nw. Mexico and Costa Rica, Panama (Gulf of Panama), Colombia (Malpelo Is.), Ecuador (La Plata Is., Cape San Lorenzo, Gulf of Guayaquil) and to s. to c. Peru and into the Humboldt Current.
