Range

Sw. Indian Ocean in the vicinity of the Mascarene Is.;
Restricted range;
Reunion (gathers in the estuary of the St. Etienne River) and Rodrigues Is. in the Mascarene Is.
Its dispersal pattern is poorly known, but seems to be e. into the Indian Ocean s. of about 20°S. It has been recorded from waters off w. Madagascar to s. of Sumatra, Java, Cocos (Keeling) Is. and Christmas Is.
