Range

W. Pacific Ocean;
Breeds on only two islands; Lord Howe Is. (Mt. Gower, Mt. Lidgbird) and on nearby Philip Is. Formerly bred on Norfolk Is.
Disperses into the sw. Pacific s. to se. Australia (se. Queensland, New South Wales off Wollongong) and se. Tasmania (Tasman Sea) and n. passing the Solomon Is. to e. Japan and Hawaiian Is. Some bird reach the n. Pacific and Bering Sea.
