Range

S. Central America. Andes of w. South America. Mountains of ne. South America;
Fragmented distribution;
Four or five populations;
(1) Costa Rica, w. and e. Panama, Colombia, w. and e. Ecuador and ne. Peru.
(2) C. Peru (Junin).
(3) Sw. Guyana to c. Surinam.
(4) Nw. Venezuela (Sierra de Perija in w. Zulia). Recent sight records from Merida and Barinas seem to relate to this race.
