Andes of n. and w. South America;
Three populations;
(1) Ne. Colombia (Santa Marta region and e. slope of the Andes in n. Norte de Santander).
(2) Nw. Venezuela (Sierra de Perija).
(2) N. Colombia along the e. slope of the Andes in s. Norte de Santander and n. Venezuela.
(3) Andes of Colombia, w. and e. Ecuador, e. Peru to nw. Bolivia (e. slope in La Paz).
