One main populations with a few scattered isolated populations;
S. Cameroon s. to Gabon, Congo, nw. Angola s. to Cuanza Norte, N. Lunda Norte, sc. and sw. Zaire and e. in sw. Central African Republic, n. and ne. Zaire and sw. Uganda (Bwamba Forest).
Isolated records in recent decades from Upper Guinean forests of Liberia, Ivory Coast and Ghana.
