Se. United States. West Indies (w. Cuba);
Two populations;
(1) Formerly in se. United States (e. Texas, se. Oklahoma, s. and e. Arkansas (Cache River National Wildlife Refuge), ex. se. Missouri, ex. s. Illinois, ex. s. Indiana, ex. w. Kentucky, w. Tenneesee, w. and c. Mississippi, c. Alabama, Florida, s. and e. Georgia, e. South Carolina and se. North Carolina).
(2) May survive in ex. ne. Cuba, Ojito de Agua, Sierra de Moa (West Indies).
