C. to e. South America;
One main population with two small isolated population in the n. part of its range;
(1) S. Surinam to e. and sc. Brazil (lower Amazon basin Santarem) and n. Bolivia.
(2) Se. Brazil (Bahia (Chapada Diamantina), s. Paraguay, Uruguay and n. Argentina (Rio Negro).
