Range

C. w. Atlantic to s. Indian Ocean and Tasman Sea;
(1) Tristan da Cunha, Nightingale, Stoltenhoff, Middle and Gough Is.
Disperses into the s. Atlantic (35°S to 43°S) off n. Argentina, Uruguay, s. Brazil (Bahia and Sao Paulo), c. Angola, Namibia and the w. coast of South Africa.
(2) Breeds on St. Paul, Amsterdam, Kerguelen, Crozet and Prince Edward Is.
Disperses into the Indian Ocean (34°S to 49°S and less often to as far n. as 15°S) off the e. coast of South Africa, Mozambique, Australia (c. Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales off Wollongong, Green Cape and Jervis Bay, s. Queensland), Tasmania, ne. coast of North Island, New Zealand (Three Kings Is. and the outer Hauraki Gulf).
